Job Description
A leading audit firm in South Africa is seeking an experienced and dynamic Audit Manager to join their team
This client-facing role is critical in leading and executing multiple audit engagements across various sectors
Successful candidate must be willing to relocate
What You Will Do
Plan, scope, and deliver audits, including setting materiality levels and conducting thorough risk assessments
Manage group and component coordination for complex engagements
Ensure reporting is compliant with IFRS and ISA standards
Lead, mentor, and review engagement teams
Provide technical coaching and on-the-job training
Conduct performance reviews and deliver constructive feedback
Drive exceptional audit quality standards
Ensure compliance with ethics & independence requirements
Prepare for Engagement Quality Control Reviews (EQCR)
Manage root-cause close-outs for continuous improvement
Manage audit budgets, work-in-progress (WIP), and billing processes
Maintain and strengthen strong client relationships
Present key findings to client management and audit committees
Draft high-quality audit reports and management letters
Assist with business development activities, including preparing proposals, scoping, and calculating fee estimates
Required Skills
Strong command and practical application of IFRS and International Standards on Auditing (ISA)
Exposure to public-sector legislation (PFMA/MFMA) is advantageous
Management Skills: Proven experience in people leadership and reviewing work on multi-site or complex engagements
Tools: Proficiency in relevant audit software (e
g
, CaseWare) and Excel
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills
